Andrew Palmquist left today for Denison University where he will begin his college tennis career. Andrew grew up playing tennis in several Greenwood programs and working with his long time coach Theo Teryazos. He started his tennis career when he joined Greenwood at age 7, played his high school tennis on the varsity team at Cherry Creek and now 11 years later he’s still playing tennis and taking it to the next level. We’re proud of you Andrew and wish you the best!

Maeve Kearney a Junior Player on the Move

12 year old Maeve Kearney is having a great summer so far. Recently she reached the semifinals in the girl’s 12 division of the Mountain Ocean tournament in Boulder. Prior to this excellent showing, she was crowned champion of the South Suburban Junior Satellite. Nice job Maeve, we wish you continued success in your remaining tournaments! Maeve is coached by our Head Professional, Ryan Haith.

A Junior Player on the Move

12 year-old Jessie Murphy made a big splash earlier this month at the Jon Cox tournament with a 2nd place finish in the girl’s 12 singles. In her semi-final match she took out the number 1 seed in straight sets but unfortunately fell short in a tough three-set performance in the final. However, Jessie was able to rebound the following week by getting to the quarter finals in her first Intermountain Sectional tournament. In the past month, Jessie has seen her ranking improve by nearly 40 spots to a current top 30 sectional ranking. Excellent job Jessie! She is seen here with her proud coach, Ron Steege.

Anna Takes Third at Little Mo Regionals

Eight year-old Anna Kalabukhova is taking a bite out of the third place trophy she earned in the Little Mo regional tournament in Austin, Texas this May. With this great finish she has qualified for the Little Mo National tournament and also an International event to be played later this fall at the Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida. Rhona Wins Gold Ball at Nationals!

Greenwood Tennis Professional, Rhona Kaczmarczyk won the Women’s 40 division singles title last month in Chicago. She scored double gold while also winning the 35 doubles title with her partner Molly Carter. Awesome Rhona!
